The JV Barons (2-5) bounced back from the previous day’s last-second loss with a thrilling, overtime victory over the host Frederick Cadets, 59-55. With the Barons trailing by three with 8 seconds on the clock, freshman point guard Jason Chooweenam took the inbounds pass up the right sideline and connected with sophomore Josh Shweiki on a cross court pass to the opposite wing for the game-tying three pointer as time expired. In overtime, the Barons took control, scoring the first four points of the extra period, and escaped with the victory, thereby ensuring that each participant ended with an identical 1-1 record in round robin play. Shweiki finished with a game-high 22 points, while freshman Beck Urofsky upped his run of double-doubles to four games with a 17-point (on 13-for-16 from the line) / 20 rebound effort. Chooweenam added a season-best 8 points.
