Barons too much for Wheaton, Win 18-8
B-CC played a rare Saturday morning game, April 28th against Wheaton, in a contest that had twice been postponed. But the Barons wasted no time getting things going; they controlled the draw, passed well, and scored a barrage of goals in short order, working toward a 12-5 lead at half. Teamwork and balanced scoring continued in the second half, resulting in 18 goals on 14 assists for the day. Offense came from Sophomore Midfielders Maggie Lucas (4 goals, 2 assists) and Catherine Gaffney (3 goals, 5 assists); Junior Lindsey Archer (3 goals, 1 assist); Sophomore Sydney Skalka (2 goals, 2 assists) Freshman Linsday Kramer (2 goals, 2 assists); Senior Abby Hopkins (2 goals); Freshman Maggie Paterson (1 goal, 1 assist); Junior Attack Lucia Montoya-Cardenas (1 goal); Junior Defender Jessie Zehner (1 assist). Draws went to Gaffney (10); Lucas (2); and one each for Archer, Hopkins, Freshman attack Frannie Rosen, and Sophomore Attack Ellie French. Winning ground balls were: Gaffney (5); Lucas and Hopkins (4 each); French (3); Zehner (2); and, Rosen, Archer, Skalka, Kramer, and Freshman Lily Gordon (1 each). In goal, Laguerrre Ford recorded 3 saves, while Junior Mae DuFour had four.
