The Boys Tennis Barons returned to their home courts (at Whitman HS) on Wednesday, cruising to victory with a 6-1 showing against the Blake High School Bengals. At doubles, junior Garrick Adams and new team member Victor Platzer (junior) prevailed 6-0, 6-2 on the first court, while veterans Andrew Cha (junior) and Max Carmer (senior) served their way to a 6-0, 6-1 victory on the second court. At #3 doubles, freshman tandem Philippe Abizeid and Areseny Kazmine achieved a double bagel (6-0, 6-0). Junior Kai Freeman and sophomore Santiago Lazo completed the doubles sweep with a victory on the exhibition court. On the singles first court, Senior Pascal Lee went the distance against the Bengals’ Sean Billerbeck in a closely contested match, 6-1, 2-6, 8-10. Freshman Eliot Lovinger won handily at third singles 6-2, 6-1. Sophomore Zach Martel and Junior Thiem Garmani took the other two singles courts. The Barons take their 3-0 season record to Walter Johnson on Friday, April 13 at 330.
