Boys Varsity Swimming · Boys Varsity Swimming finishes 5th place at Division I Championships

  Place Points
Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School 5th 273

The Barons held seed and finished in 5th place with 273.50 points. We did everything we could to try and pick up points to move closer to 4th position. We had numerous season bests along with one new Metro cut. We jumped seed in almost every single event and can easily walk away from today knowing we left it all in the pool and on the boards. Highlights include Derek Smegal and Gavin May going 2nd/4th in diving, Will Tenpas dipping under 2 minutes in 200 IM and nearly running down the field in 100 breast, James Marder dropping huge time in both 200 IM and 100 breast, Isaac Springe dropping 2.5 seconds to make his Metros cut in 100 breast, Nathan Wratney going lifetime bests in 50/100 free, Rafe Garcia-Hidalgo continuing a hot 500 streak and dropping 3 seconds, John Marder nearly going a lifetime best in 500 free, Grant McNavage with two lifetime bests in 200 IM/100 Fly, Eli Nott nearly dipping under 1-minute in 100 back, and Booker McCann narrowly missing his Metros cut in 500 free with a season best time. An unbelievable start to the championship season.
