The meet opened at 152 where Jeovannie Martinez controlled the match with a series of take-downs and tilts to win a major decision. Next at 160 Evan Wassmann moved from his initial take-down to a cradle for a quick pin. At 170, Eric Poliquin stepped into the varsity line-up for the first time and was pinned by a tough opponent. At 182, Emmanuel Oladapo took the lead early with two takedowns in the first period and then would continue to stay just ahead of his opponent in a match with lots of back-and-forth action. Emmanuel hung on to win to 12-11. At 195, David Folivi picked up a forfeit. Next up came a dominant performance from both of the Baron’s big men, Andrew Atienza and Alhassane Kouyate, taking their opponents quickly to their backs for first period pins. At this point, BCC is up 31-6 going back to the 106 weight class where Ike Guttentag received a forfeit. At 113, Christian Simpson went ahead early and built on his lead through the second period when he executed a lateral drop to a pin. Alejandro Cubillan secured a quick pin at 120. At 126, Aidan Moffitt was up against Wheaton’s toughest wrestler where he went back and forth in the first period through a series of scrambles that ultimately left him on his back. BCC is now up 49-12. BCC then wins out the last three matches with Eli Guttentag, Fabio Martinez and Drew Guttentag all pinning their opponents.
