The match opened at 132 where captain Eli Guttentag took on Biruk Tona. The first period would end 0-0 with Guttentag the aggressor, chasing Tona off the mat several times with Tona eventually getting hit with a stall warning. Guttentag went down for the second period and quickly escaped where he continued to push the pace, securing at take down and several more stall calls for an eventual 7-0 win.
Up next at 138 Brayden Brinson stepped into the varsity lineup covering for one an injured starter. He started strong and was up 4-0 before riding too high and succumbing to headlock for the pin.
At 145 Fabio Martinez gained several take-downs and near falls to get a technical fall and put BCC back in the lead.
At 152 Fabio’s brother Jeo Martinez took care of business as usual and pinned his opponent.
Evan Wassmann at 160 had a quick take down and then a cradle to go up 5-0. He would eventually get another cradle for a pin.
At 170 Emmanuel Oladapo would make it four wins in a row gutting out a close one against Ernest Son.
The BCC run was stopped short at 182 where Dan Shapiro was pinned by Brandon Ntankeu.
David Folivi at 195 put BCC back in the winning column with a 5-1 victory.
At 220 Andrew Atienza came out strong with a deft ankle pick against a talented Joel Paulino but in the end Paulina was able to turn Atienza for a pin.
Alhassane Kouyate would also get pinned at 285.
At 106 BCC forfeited to state ranked Brian McCaw in a tactical move designed to preserve its lead going into the final bouts.
So with three matches remaining BCC found themselves behind for the second time in the evening. Both teams would bump up a wrestlers from 106 to 113 with Isaac Guttentag locking up a double arm bar to pin Sideeg Abdulla in the first period.
Christian Simpson up at 120 would extend the lead and lock up the win for BCC, pinning Moses Ritti who fought hard from his back for two periods.
Aiden Moffitt at 126 would end the match with a major decision over Nikolai Tochillin.
