Barons News · Winter Wrap-Up and Post Season Information


As the regular season schedule comes to an end, below is information about postseason and playoff competition for B-CC Winter sports.

Additional information can be found on CountySportszone, which compiles results around the state as well as unofficial playoff seeding standings. The MPSSAA website also has information about state and regional tournaments.

Tickets to Sectional and Regional Tournament contests are $6 for all spectators over the age of six. Only MPSSAA passes will be accepted (MCPS staff ID’s and B-CC season passes are not accepted at playoff contests).

Poms: B-CC participated in the MCPS County Competition on Saturday, 2/1. The Barons placed 3rd in Division II to complete the competition season. The poms seniors will perform at halftime of the home basketball games against Kennedy HS for basketball senior night. The Poms season is now complete at the end of basketball.

Bocce: B-CC honored its seniors at the final home match. B-CC hosted and competed in the MCPS Division I Tournament on Saturday, 2/1 and completed their regular season with MCPS. The team will travel to Hagerstown Community College on 2/10 to compete in the State tournament.

Cheerleading: Cheerleading does not have postseason competitions in the Winter. The Barons will  seniors will perform at senior night home basketball games against Kennedy HS.

Indoor Track & Field: B-CC competed in the MCPS County Championship meet on 1/22. The Barons will next compete in the MPSSAA 4A Region Championship meet on 2/4-2/6. Qualifying athletes will then advance to the MPSSAA 4A State Championship meet on 2/18. The State Meet Fan Focus and the MPSSAA State Indoor Track Bulletin have information about the Region and State meets.

Wrestling: B-CC will host the Region Tournament Dual Meet on 2/12/20. If the Barons win the region, they will move on to the State Tournament Dual Meet on 2/15/20. The Barons will compete in the MCPS County Tournament on 2/21 and 2/22 at Gaithersburg HS. Qualifying athletes will then compete in the MPSSAA 4A Region Tournament on 2/28 and 2/29 at Clarksburg HS. Qualifying athletes will then compete in the MPSSAA 4A State Tournament on 3/5-3/7 at The Show Place Arena. Swim & Dive: B-CC  competed in the MCPS Division I Championship meet on 2/1 and the Girls finished 1st for the third year in a row and the Boys placed 5th). Qualifying athletes will compete in Metros (2/5-2/8) at Germantown Indoor Swim Center. The Barons will then compete in the MPSSAA 4A/3A North Region Championship meet (Diving – 2/14 at KSAC and Swimming – 2/15 at PG Sportsplex). Qualifying athletes will then compete in the MPSSAA 4A/3A State Championship meet at the University of Maryland (Diving – 2/21 and Swimming – 2/22). Boys Basketball: B-CC competes in the MPSSAA 4A West Region I. The playoff brackets will be officially released on 2/25. Girls Basketball:B-CC competes in the MPSSAA 4A West Region I. The playoff brackets will be officially released on 2/25.
