The Tennis Barons were well-represented in Counties with semifinalists on six (6) of the seven (7) courts in the tournament yesterday. Senior Matt Dubrow advanced to the finals on the third court, defeating his opponent 6-4, 6-2. Sophomore Zach Martel went the distance to a third set tiebreak before falling on court two. Pascal Lee (Sr.) put up a valiant effort on court one and Channing Smith (Jr.) defaulted on court four due to illness.
In the doubles matches played at WJ yesterday, our two doubles semifinalists — Garmani Thein (Jr.) / Eliot Lovinger (Fr.) on court two, and Max Carmer (Sr.) / Andrew Cha (Jr.) on court three fell to their Wootton opponents. In the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Philip Gregory (Sr.) and Garrick Adams (Jr.) lost a tough three-setter to Churchill on court one.
Finals are today at Paint Branch. 3:15 start. GO BARONS!
