Game Recap

The JV Barons improved their record to a perfect 14-0 with a victory in their home finale over crosstown rivals, Whitman. The Barons took an early lead and fought off a couple of Vikings runs in the second half to secure a 57-51 win. Camilo Baccolo-Oudet, who missed the first meeting between the teams in December, played a big role in the Barons’ first quarter lead, scoring 8 of his season-high 16 in the opening quarter before heading to the bench with early foul trouble. The Barons battled foul trouble throughout the game, especially in the post where Travis Cann fouled out early in the 4th quarter and three other players – Duncan Patchin, Declan Feldhusen, and Joe Jepsen – picked up 3 a piece. Battling against a big Whitman front line, the Barons’ post players dug in and refused to be pushed around. Feldhusen led the group, grabbing 7 rebounds to go along with 5 blocks. Kevin McAuliffe again led all Barons scorers with 21 point. The Barons conclude their season on the road at Einstein on Tuesday.
