Girls Lax BCC 15 BLAKE 4

The BCC Girls Varsity lacrosse team continued their strong start to their 2017 campaign Wednesday evening with a commanding victory over the Blake Bengals.  The game seemed well in hand from the moment the first whistle blew as the Barons won the draw and took their time during each possession. Their patience paid off, and resulted in a barrage of shots, and ultimately goals.

Led by senior Megan Gaffney and junior Abby Hopkins, the defense stood strong and quickly transitioned the ball downfield with crisp passing, including a four-pass clear culminating in a goal for junior Natalia Mobille. With our solid defense, it was a relatively quiet night for our goalies, senior Ellie Dura and junior Abby Bollman.

Senior Cate Paterson led the scoring with 6 goals, senior Katherine Vangaever tallied 2, as did freshman Catherine Gaffney, and junior Natalia Mobille.  Junior Audrey Zantzinger, sophomore Lindsey Archer, and freshman Maggie Lucas each scored 1 goal a piece. Goals were balanced with selfless playing, including assists made by Archer, Paterson, C. Gaffney, Zantzinger —each with 2 assists.

The competition gets more difficult as #Pagansarmy takes on rival and defending division champion Churchill High School next Monday night at 7PM. And come cheer for the match against Richard Montgomery on Wednesday 4/5 at 7pm.
