Baron Wrestlers Impress at State Tournament – McAndrew Places 5th

Three varsity wrestlers competed in the 3A/4A state tournament held at the Show Place Arena on March 3-4. Junior Gabe McAndrew (195) pulled out a tough 3-2 win to capture 5th place, and to finish his season at 41-7. Senior Patrick Kirlin (145) and Sophomore Seamus Selmi (152) lost tough matches in what is known as the “blood round,” finishing in the top 8 of their brackets but not placing (top 6 place). Kirlin finished his season with a record of 38-10 and Selmi finished at 39-7 The state tournament capped off a terrific season for these and all of the BCC wrestlers.
