Swim and Dive – State Championship Summary

The Maryland State Swimming and Diving championships took place this past Friday and Saturday at the University of Maryland Eppley Rec Center. The Barons capped a wonderful season with top notch performances across the board. The boys 3rd place finish marks the second year in a row they’ve finished in the top 3. The girls 6th place finish marks the best finish in program history.

Key highlights:

Maddy Pfaff – Girls Diving – RUNNER UP

Girls 200 Medley Relay – Katie Smith, Gabi Meisel, Olivia McGrath, Caroline Karson – RUNNER UP

Diego Suarez Touzon – Boys 50 Free & Boys 100 Free – RUNNER UP

Olivia McGrath – Girls 100 Fly 4th place – NEW school record

Katie Smith – Girls 50 Free RUNNER UP, Girls 100 Back STATE CHAMP (NEW school record)

Boys 200 Free Relay – Diego Suarez Touzon, Joey Turi, Connor Dickinson, Nathan Wratney – 3rd place – NEW school record (Additionally, Diego broke the school record in the 50 free with his leadoff split)

Boys 400 Free Relay – Diego Suarez Touzon, Joey Turi, Connor Dickinson, Fielding Fischer – RUNNER UP
