Game Recap

Walter Johnson defeats B-CC

The Lady Barons met a formidable and well-coached Walter Johnson “Big Train” Wildcats in a “home” game played in the Wildcats stadium. Though the Barons were defeated, they never quit the fight; not an easy thing to do when you are away from home.

Senior Captains Olivia Siegel, Natalie Cady and Marley Clendenin, with the help of the other seniors Caroline Flibbert and Georgia Tinsley, took control of the team and showed the younger players how to play with pride. The younger players responded with gusto. Juniors Clare Edelstein, Sophia Wallach and Lili Barrett fired a barrage of shots while Maya Gutman, Caroline Ward, Avery Butterfield, Morgane Dallaire and Carli Boyer valiantly fought off the Wildcat attacks. Sophomore standouts Emma McMillan and Sarah Haas stood tall with the upper classmen and came ready to play. Freshman Jessica Gomez, Greta Farkas and Samaya Bernado never let up and bounced back from the punishing hits of a very physical game.

The next 45 days will test the will, strength, and resolve of our Lady Barons as they continue their journey through the 2016 regular season, playing all games on away fields, and fight toward the playoffs. If they continue to work hard and develop like they have, the Barons will finish the regular season strong and be well prepared for the playoffs.
